Workshop Description: These two days will focus on strategies to push poems further. This means focusing, among other things, on beginnings, endings, tangents that aren’t tangents, expanding and pruning, and formal possibilities including rhythm and sound. We will be revising during the course of the two days and looking at those revisions.

   ***Limited to 8 Participants, so please submit two poems that in your estimation need work and one poem that you consider done to apply. Email poems to jbanerob@msn.com.

Baron Wormser is the author/co-author of twelve full-length books and a poetry chapbook. His titles include The Road Washes Out in Spring: A Poet’s Memoir of Living Off the Grid, Scattered Chapters: New and Selected Poems, and a work of fiction entitled The Poetry Life: Ten Stories. In March 2011 his most recent book of poetry, Impenitent Notes, was published. A former poet laureate of Maine he teaches in the Fairfield University MFA Program and is Director of Educational Outreach at the Frost Place in Franconia, NH. Wormser has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He has worked for decades as a freelance teacher and led dozens of workshops including sessions in Maine, Massachusetts, Kentucky and Illinois under the auspices of the National Writing Project and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
